Who is this course for?

This course is recommended for those who already have some jewellery making skills and wish to add new skills for traditional setting to their repertoire.  You will gain theoretical knowledge for a range of different types of stone setting and cover some basic gemmology.  There will be practical demonstrations of tube setting and flush setting and students will practice these skills under the guidance of the tutor. The basics of raising grains (beads) will be explored, making this an ideal course for either a beginner who is working towards pave setting diamonds or jewellery designers who would benefit from a clearer understanding of the processes used by professional setters for the manufacture of their own designs.
