This course is designed as an entry-level for students wishing to develop a grounding in basic jewellery design and techniques.
About the course
A practical, design-led course that enables you to develop professional bench skills with lots of hands-on workshop experience. The course consists of a range of practical projects that will explore both precious metals and more unconventional materials. Modules include:
Making a ring
Working with found objects
You will also be introduced to contextual research in art and design, encouraging you to think critically about the creative process.
This course will provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to progress to our Extended Certificate in Art & Design* or our Foundation Diploma in Art & Design*.
Who is the course for?
This is a beginner’s course designed for students who wish to obtain basic jewellery techniques and design skills. Some prior knowledge of basic craft skills is preferable but not essential.
